October 2005 - RECORD numbers of Scots are learning a lethal martial art to protect themselves against violent crime.

Hundreds have signed up for Krav Maga, used by Tomb Raider babe Angelina Jolie.
The self defence system was pioneered by the Israeli army and used by the FBI.
It is also practised by Hollywood stars Jennifer Lopez, Christian Slater, Cameron Diaz, Lucy Liu and Sharon Stone.
